FAQ

FAQ

  • WHAT DO I WEAR?

You will be outside in the elements, with weather delays that could be for several hours! Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the season. Goggles will be provided, and we do have special goggles that fit over glasses.

Shoes: Tennis, running or tie shoes. No heels, sandals, or shoes with hooks or boots.

Cold weather:  We recommend bringing gloves and dressing in several layers - Under Armour or Long Johns work great!

Hot weather: Short shorts and low cut tops can pose problems if you plan to have your experience captured on film. Shorts may also catch you a bright red raspberry on your legs if you have a slide in landing! So NO short shorts and NO tank tops. Many girls choose to wear stretch pants/yoga pants in the summer months or capris. Knee length shorts and a short sleeve tee are the best clothing items for everyone.

  • HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

We schedule tandem skydive gift certificates over the phone. Give us a call at 913.205.1224. Let us know when you schedule if you are redeeming a gift certificate or pre season jump ticket. You will need to bring it with you.

You can also go to the BOOK NOW tab to schedule your skydive online.

  • ARE THERE AGE AND HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS?

    Yes there are.

You must be at least 18 years old. You will need to bring a photo ID with you.

You can't weigh over 220 lbs. We will weigh you when you sign in.

In certain circumstances it may be unsafe to take a student/passenger even if under the weight limit if the harness doesn't fit correctly.

Our instructors make the final determination to keep everyone safe.

  • I BOOKED WITH A GROUP. WILL WE JUMP TOGETHER?

We do our best to keep groups together, but there are many factors that must be considered when manifesting students on their flights. Generally, you will jump with at least 4 members of your group if not more.

  • HOW LONG SHOULD I EXPECT TO BE AT FALCON SKYDIVING

    Weekdays: 2 to 3 hours

    Weekend: 3-4 hours

Please show up 15 minutes prior to your appointment time so we can start on time with the paperwork and training. Showing up on time is very important for keeping things moving smoothly and getting you in the air. We appreciate your consideration of others with later appointments by being punctual.

We are the busiest during the weekend and are at the mercy of the weather. Always prepare for the possibility of weather delays.

Many ask us for a specific time for their skydive. We will give you our best estimate as there are many safety factors and considerations that go into make a skydive. For your safety and ours we are only going to go as fast as we need to in order to be safe. Remember, we are jumping out of an airplane, and safety is our priority!

  • WHAT ABOUT WEATHER?

Skydivers are at the mercy of the weather. Inclement weather can impair skydiving for an hour, several hours, or sometimes even the entire day. Strong, gusty winds can be a factor as well as cloud coverage, rain or extreme temperatures. Weather forecasts are only forecasts, so we have to wait until the day and time of your appointment to see what the weather will bring.

We are not weather experts. We can only read weather forecasts and make predictions viewing the same information as everyone else.

We will get the latest updated forecast the morning of your jump. If it looks like it is not good, we will call you. If you think it is not going to be good weather and haven't heard from us, please call before you leave your house.

If we are skydiving and have to stop due to weather and we go on a weather hold, we make these decisions based on safety considerations. We will give you our best estimate of how long the hold will be. Again, we can't control the weather and we are giving you our best guess. Believe us, we want to skydive as much as you do, but safety is our first priority. You can elect to wait it out or you can reschedule to a different date.

  • WHAT ABOUT SPECTATORS?

Friends and family are welcome to come watch. They need to bring their own lawn chairs, umbrellas, blankets, etc.

If you have small children or Senior adults  please keep in mind that you will be outside in the elements for several hours without heat or air conditioning. Long, hot days can be difficult for everyone. Unexpected weather delays can often catch our customers off guard when bringing out young children or Senior adults. Please keep your children safe by staying within the observation area and under supervision at all times!

Our focus is on the safety of the people skydiving.  Plan on  being here 3-4 hrs. We will operate on our time schedule, not others.

PLEASE LEAVE YOUR DOGS AT HOME!  Believe it or not, but not everyone likes dogs. Animals are not allowed in the building and must be leashed at all times.

  • CAN I BRING MY GOPRO CAMERA ON THE JUMP?

No. No exceptions. The United States Parachute Association requires anyone operating a camera in freefall to be a licensed skydiver with a minimum of 200 skydives. It is unsafe for you as well as your instructor to bring a camera in freefall without proper training.
